SHINE FOUNDATION

Shine is the only organization in Canada focused primarily on providing individual Dreams for young people aged 11-21 living with severe physical disabilities that helps them think differently about their future, imagine new possibilities, and develop a sense of purpose that can last a lifetime. We work with Dreamers whose conditions may have been present at birth, have been caused by a sudden accident, or have developed over time. Many of the young people we serve face significant barriers and health challenges and are often not eligible for programs from other organizations. It is imperative that now, during their most critical stage of development, they see their futures as ones full of opportunities and possibilities, rather than ones of ongoing barriers and challenges.

A Shine Dream is a customized opportunity, sparked by a young person and fulfilled by our dedicated team. Ranging from accessible sporting equipment and technology, supporting school and career goals, meeting an inspiring hero, support animals, and more, Shine lays the foundation for long-term change.
