Canada’s Mike Weir and Stephen Ames First to Commit to 2025 Rogers Charity Classic

 

Award-winning tournament set to tee off golf season, launch ticket sales, at PGA of Alberta Golf Show

 

CALGARY – Two Canadian Golf Hall of Famers on the PGA TOUR Champions, Mike Weir and Stephen Ames, are first to add their names to the tee sheet for the 2025 Rogers Charity Classic.

Team Rogers athlete, Mike Weir, will be make his fifth-straight appearance at Canada’s lone PGA TOUR Champions stop in Calgary, August 11-17, 2025. Stephen Ames — one of the key players behind bringing the Rogers Charity Classic to Calgary – has also confirmed he will tee it up for the 11th time in his own backyard at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club.

“Mike and Stephen are two of Canada’s greatest ambassadors for the game and I can’t think of a better way to tee off the golf season than by confirming they will once again be with us this summer at the 13th edition of the Rogers Charity Classic,” said Sean Van Kesteren, executive director, Rogers Charity Classic. “Canadian golf fans continue to follow both of them each week on the PGA TOUR Champions. They are both playing some great golf, and I know will once again put on a show for our spectators, while helping us once again achieve our greater mission of raising significant money for youth-based charities throughout Alberta.”

Rogers Charity Classic tournament officials made their first two player announcements just days before helping to officially tee off the 2025 season while exhibiting at the PGA of Alberta Golf Show, March 22-23, where golf fans visiting the Tournament’s interactive chipping area will have the opportunity to chip for an opportunity to win an “Honourary Observer” spot at this year’s event when they purchase a tournament ticket on-site for as low as $15.

A variety of ticketing options for the 2025 Rogers Charity Classic are available for those not attending the annual golf show, including different packages for premier spectator and enhanced viewing and hosting experiences.
